Description

This indulgent 5 Cheese Crack and Cheese is a creamy and decadent twist on classic mac and cheese. With a combination of five different cheeses, it’s the ultimate comfort food that will satisfy cheese lovers and make every meal special. Perfect for cozy dinners, parties, or any occasion that calls for something indulgent.

Ingredients

1 lb elbow macaroni (or pasta of choice)

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream

1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta: Bring salted water to a boil in a large pot and cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  • Make the cheese sauce: In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and stir to form a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes until it turns lightly golden. Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth.

  • Add the cheeses: Reduce heat and add the cheeses one at a time, starting with cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Stir until melted, then add Gruyère and goat cheese, stirring until smooth and creamy.

  • Season: Adjust the sauce with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika if desired.

  • Combine pasta and sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the sauce, stirring to coat evenly.

  • Serve: Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy. Optionally, sprinkle extra Parmesan or paprika on top.

Notes

  1. Tip: Feel free to add cooked chicken, bacon, or sausage for a protein boost.
  2. For a spicy version, stir in chopped jalapeños or hot sauce.
  3. Try adding vegetables like spinach, broccoli, or mushrooms for extra flavor.
