Hi, I’m Amina! Welcome to Amina Bakes, where we whisk, simmer, sauté, and yes, still dust everything with a little powdered‑sugar joy.
Cooking has always been my love language. What began as weekend baking dates with my grandma soon expanded to bubbling stews, fragrant rice dishes, and late‑night noodle experiments that kept friends lingering at the table long after the plates were clean. Now, I pour that same warmth into every recipe I share whether it’s a flaky baklava tart, a one‑pot chicken dinner, or the fluffiest scrambled eggs you’ll ever fork into.
I live just outside Chicago with my husband and two tiny taste‑testers who have very strong opinions about both frosting and spice levels. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me hunting down farmers‑market treasures, pressing flowers between cookbook pages, or mapping out my next flavor mash‑up (cardamom mac & cheese, anyone?).
Amina Bakes is for cooks and bakers of every experience level. If you’re here for a foolproof brownie, a cozy weeknight curry, or simply a little kitchen comfort after a long day you’re in the right place. Grab an apron, pull up a stool, and let’s make something delicious together.
A Little More About Me..
I didn’t go to culinary school but I did learn to stir, season, and bake by heart. Some of my best teachers wore aprons without recipes, cooked by smell, and used memories as their measuring cups.
Food has always been a bridge in my life between generations, cultures, and stories. My kitchen pulls from everywhere: the soft cardamom rolls of my childhood, the bold spice of weeknight dinners, and the buttery warmth of cakes baked for no reason at all. Every dish I make is a reflection of that blend deeply rooted, joyfully curious, and always made with care.
I’m especially drawn to recipes that feel like rituals. The kind you repeat on birthdays, lazy Sundays, or when someone needs a little extra love. Cooking, for me, is a way to slow down and reconnect with flavor, family, and the rhythm of everyday life.
Here at Amina Bakes, my goal is simple: to help you feel confident in the kitchen and excited to gather around the table. Whether you’re baking for comfort, cooking for a crowd, or just trying something new there’s space for you here.
