Description

Apple Brownies with Maple Glaze are a cozy, cake-like dessert made with fresh apples, warm spices, and topped with a sweet maple glaze. Perfect for fall or anytime you want a comforting treat.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1 tsp baking powder
  3. 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  4. 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  5. 1/4 tsp salt
  6. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  7. 1/2 cup brown sugar
  8. 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  9. 2 large eggs
  10. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  11. 1 1/2 cups chopped apples (peeled and cored)
  12. 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  13. 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  14. 12 tbsp milk or cream
  15. 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  16. Pinch of salt

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  2. In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and stir just until combined. Fold in chopped apples.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Let brownies cool completely in the pan.
  6. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk or cream, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  7. Drizzle glaze over cooled brownies. Let set for 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.
