Perfect for those craving a quick, delicious, and balanced meal, these avocado toast ideas are rich in healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidants.

Ingredients

4 slices of your favorite bread (sourdough, whole grain, or rye)

2 ripe avocados

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Variation 1: Classic Avocado Toast

Red pepper flakes

Lemon juice

Variation 2: Avocado Toast with Tomato & Basil

1 ripe tomato, sliced

Fresh basil leaves

Balsamic glaze (optional)

Variation 3: Spicy Avocado Toast

1 jalapeño, sliced

Hot sauce (to taste)

Cilantro for garnish

Variation 4: Avocado Toast with Egg

2 eggs (fried, poached, or scrambled)

Crumbled feta cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • Toast the bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown and crispy.

  • While the bread is toasting, cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Mash it with a fork until smooth or slightly chunky.

  • Drizzle olive oil over the mashed avocado and season with salt and pepper.

  • Spread the avocado mixture evenly on the toasted bread.

  • For Variation 1 (Classic):

    • Sprinkle red pepper flakes on top and drizzle with lemon juice.

  • For Variation 2 (Tomato & Basil):

    • Layer with fresh tomato slices and basil leaves. Drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired.

  • For Variation 3 (Spicy):

    • Top with sliced jalapeños, hot sauce, and cilantro.

  • For Variation 4 (With Egg):

    • Prepare eggs to your liking (fried, poached, or scrambled) and place them on the toast. Optionally, sprinkle with crumbled feta.

Notes

  1. Avocado toast is best enjoyed fresh to avoid browning of the avocado.
  2. Store leftover avocado mixture in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 day. Re-toast the bread to refresh.
