Description
BBQ Beef Biscuit Cups are a perfect fusion of comfort and flavor, with tender, savory beef mixed with tangy BBQ sauce, all nestled inside flaky, golden biscuit cups.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite varietAy)
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tbsp olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and onion, cooking until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the BBQ sauce and season with salt and pepper. Simmer the mixture for about 2 minutes until well combined and heated through. Remove from heat.
- Roll out the biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into half. Press each half into the bottom of a greased muffin tin to form little cups.
- Spoon the BBQ beef mixture into each biscuit cup. Top with shredded cheddar cheese if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuit cups are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Vegetarian Option: Replace the ground beef with a plant-based meat substitute, such as crumbled tofu or lentils, and use a vegetarian BBQ sauce for a meatless version.
- Cheese Variations: Swap the cheddar cheese for mozzarella, pepper jack, or even a blend of your favorite cheeses for a different flavor profile.
- Add Veggies: Include diced bell peppers, mushrooms, or corn in the BBQ beef mixture for extra flavor and texture.
- Spicy BBQ: Use a spicy BBQ sauce or add some chili flakes to the beef mixture for a kick of heat.
- Storage/Reheating: To store leftover BBQ Beef Biscuit Cups, place them in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. To reheat, microwave for 20-30 seconds or place them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes. Can be frozen for up to 3 months and reheated from frozen in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
