Description

These savory and slightly sweet brown sugar chops are a perfect way to elevate your dinner. The tender pork chops are coated in a delicious glaze made from brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and a few other simple ingredients, creating a rich flavor profile that will have everyone asking for seconds.

Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, olive oil, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear them for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Pour the brown sugar mixture over the pork chops, making sure they’re evenly coated.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the pork chops reaches 145°F (63°C).
  6. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  1. Add vegetables like carrots, potatoes, or green beans to the skillet for a one-pan meal.
  2. You can swap bone-in pork chops for boneless if you prefer. Adjust cooking time slightly, as boneless chops cook faster.
  3. Add a dash of hot sauce or red pepper flakes to the glaze for a spicy kick to balance out the sweetness.
  4. This recipe also works well with chicken thighs or breasts. Just adjust the cooking time based on thickness.
  5. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. To reheat, place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
