Description

These Candy Cane Oreo Balls are a festive and delicious holiday treat combining crushed Oreos, creamy cream cheese, and a sweet white chocolate coating, topped with peppermint Oreo crumbs and crunchy candy cane pieces for a delightful burst of minty flavor.

Ingredients

Base

  • 18 Regular Oreos
  • 18 Peppermint Oreos
  • 4 ounces Cream Cheese, cubed

Coating

  • 1½ Cups White Chocolate Morsels

Toppings

  • Peppermint Oreo Crumbs (from crushed Oreos)
  • Candy Cane, broken into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: In a food processor, puree the Regular and Peppermint Oreos into fine crumbs.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Add the cubed cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and puree until well incorporated into a smooth mixture.
  3. Form Balls: Roll the mixture into walnut shell sized balls, approximately 15 to 17, and place them on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to firm up.
  4. Melt White Chocolate: Microwave the white chocolate morsels on high for 1½ to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until completely smooth.
  5. Coat Oreo Balls: Dip each Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate until fully coated, then place them back onto the wax paper-lined baking sheet.
  6. Add Toppings: Immediately sprinkle the white chocolate coated balls with peppermint Oreo crumbs and broken candy cane pieces to garnish.
  7. Chill: Refrigerate the coated and decorated Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes until set and firm.
  8. Storage: Keep the Candy Cane Oreo Balls stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Make sure to use softened cream cheese for easier blending.
  • Use fresh candy canes for a crisp crunch and bright peppermint flavor.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, use a zip-top bag and a rolling pin to crush the Oreos finely.
  • The recipe yields about 15-17 balls depending on sizing.
  • Store leftover Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
