Description

Cheesecake Egg Rolls are a fun, innovative twist on traditional cheesecake, wrapped in a crispy egg roll wrapper and fried to golden perfection. These bite-sized treats combine the rich, creamy filling of cheesecake with the crunch of an egg roll, making them perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

1 package of egg roll wrappers

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth and creamy.
  2. Lay one egg roll wrapper flat on a clean surface. Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese filling onto the center of the wrapper.
  3. Fold in the sides of the wrapper and roll it up tightly to form an egg roll shape. Seal the edges with a little water to ensure they stay closed during frying.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the egg rolls in the skillet, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  5. Fry each egg roll for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the egg rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  7. Once they have cooled slightly, dust the egg rolls with powdered sugar for a sweet finish.

Notes

  1. This recipe makes about 8-10 cheesecake egg rolls, depending on how much filling you use in each roll.
  2. You can store any leftover egg rolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  3. If you want to bake the egg rolls instead of frying them, bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes until golden and crispy.
  4. Try various fillings or toppings, such as Nutella, berries, or chocolate sauce, to customize the recipe to your liking.
