Description
Cheesecake Stuffed Baked Apples are the perfect blend of a warm, sweet dessert and the creamy goodness of cheesecake. The tartness of the apple pairs wonderfully with the rich and creamy cheesecake filling, creating a comforting treat that’s both decadent and light.
Ingredients
6 medium-sized apples (such as Honeycrisp or Gala)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup crushed graham crackers
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)
Optional: Whipped cream or caramel sauce for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the top off each apple and carefully hollow out the center using a spoon or melon baller, leaving about a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, sour cream, and powdered sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the crushed graham crackers, cinnamon, and nutmeg until everything is fully incorporated.
- Stuff each apple with the cheesecake mixture, packing it tightly to fill each hollowed-out center.
- Place the stuffed apples in a baking dish, and drizzle the melted butter over them.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar over the top of each apple.
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Optionally, drizzle with whipped cream or caramel sauce for extra indulgence.
Notes
- Leftover stuffed apples can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the microwave for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, or place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes to warm through.
- You can experiment with flavored extracts like almond or maple for the cheesecake filling.
- Add chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts for added crunch.
- For a chocolate version, mix in some cocoa powder into the cheesecake filling.
- Stuffed apples can be frozen before baking. Bake from frozen, adding 10-15 minutes to the baking time.
