Description

Delicious no-bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles made with heat-treated flour, creamy butter, and mini chocolate chips, dipped in smooth melted chocolate and topped with festive sprinkles or drizzles. Perfect bite-sized treats to satisfy your sweet tooth in just 45 minutes.

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free 1:1 flour)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons milk of choice
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Chocolate Coating

  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or neutral oil
  • Sprinkles, white chocolate drizzle, or dark chocolate drizzle for decorating

Instructions

  1. Heat-Treat Flour: Place the flour in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on HIGH for 90 seconds, stopping every 30 seconds to whisk to ensure even heating. Allow the flour to cool completely to make it safe for raw consumption.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until creamy and light in texture. Add vanilla extract and milk, then mix until combined thoroughly.
  3. Form Dough: Add the cooled flour and salt to the wet mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms, then fold in the mini chocolate chips gently to distribute them evenly.
  4. Shape Balls: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop approximately 1 tablespoon portions of dough, chill them for 10 minutes to firm up, then roll into smooth balls. Keep the balls chilled while you prepare the chocolate coating.
  5. Melt Chocolate: Melt the chocolate chips with the coconut or neutral oil in the microwave using 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  6. Dip Dough Balls: Dip each chilled dough ball into the melted chocolate to coat completely, then place on the lined baking sheet.
  7. Decorate and Chill: Add sprinkles or drizzle white or dark chocolate over the coated truffles as desired. Refrigerate for 5 to 10 minutes until the chocolate coating sets firmly.
  8. Microwave Note: For melting chocolate, microwaving as described above is effective and quick, just be careful to stir frequently to avoid burning.

Notes

  • Heat treating the flour is essential to make the dough safe to eat raw.
  • You can use gluten-free flour without changing the recipe for a gluten-free version.
  • Use any milk of choice – dairy or plant-based works well.
  • Store truffles refrigerated in an airtight container for up to one week.
  • For a festive touch, use colorful sprinkles or white/dark chocolate drizzles to decorate.
