Description

These delightful Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles are bite-sized, no-bake treats with a soft, edible cookie dough interior enrobed in rich chocolate—a perfect indulgence for any occasion.

Ingredients

½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened

¾ cup packed light brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups (≈250 g) all-purpose flour, heat-treated

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

pounds chocolate bark or melting chocolate, for coating

Optional toppings: extra chocolate chips, sprinkles, sea salt, chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Heat‑treat the flour by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking at 350°F for about 10 minutes, or microwaving in 30–15 second intervals until it reaches 160°F. Let it cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually beat in the cooled, heat-treated flour, then stir in sweetened condensed milk until smooth.
  4. Fold in miniature chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or longer if needed.
  6. Scoop dough into 1-inch balls and place on a lined baking sheet. Refrigerate or freeze for 15–30 minutes to firm.
  7. Melt chocolate bark or melting chocolate in 30-second microwave intervals or using a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  8. Dip each dough ball into the melted chocolate, tapping off excess. Add toppings if desired.
  9. Allow the chocolate coating to set by refrigerating the truffles for 15–30 minutes.
  10. Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  1. Make sure to properly heat-treat the flour to ensure it’s safe to eat raw.
  2. For a flavor twist, add extracts like almond or coconut to the dough.
  3. To prevent cracking, ensure the dough is well-chilled before dipping in chocolate.
  4. Customize with different chocolate coatings and toppings.
  5. Let truffles sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving for best texture.
