Description

Churro Cruffins are a delightful hybrid of croissants and churros, offering the flaky layers of a croissant with the cinnamon-sugar sweetness of a churro. Easy to make with puff pastry, these treats are perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a snack. With a crispy exterior and soft, buttery interior, churro cruffins will become your new favorite indulgence!

Ingredients

1 package of puff pastry (or croissant dough)

1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup of granulated sugar

2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin or line it with muffin liners.

  2. Roll out the puff pastry or croissant dough on a clean surface. If using puff pastry, press seams together. Roll the dough into a rectangle.

  3. Brush the entire surface of the dough with melted butter.

  4. In a small bowl, mix sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough.

  5. Roll the dough into a tight log and slice into 8 equal pieces.

  6. Place each slice in the muffin tin, cut-side up.

  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.

  8. Remove from the tin and let cool slightly. Optionally, brush with more melted butter and sprinkle with additional cinnamon-sugar before serving.

Notes

  1. Tip: If using puff pastry, be sure to press the seams together to avoid openings.
  2. For a richer taste, brush with additional butter after baking.
