Ingredients
Cinnamon Roll Dough
- 2 tubes cinnamon rolls (8 rolls each)
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
Other Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup pecans (finely chopped)
- Icing from cinnamon roll packages
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350ºF (175ºC) to prepare for baking the bread.
- Make Cinnamon Sugar: In a medium bowl, combine the sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix with a fork until the mixture is evenly blended.
- Prepare Butter: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe glass bowl by microwaving it until fully liquid and warm.
- Prepare Dough: Remove the cinnamon rolls and icing from their packages. Set the icing aside for later. Flatten each cinnamon roll by stretching it with your fingers into a pancake-like shape. Dip each flattened roll into the melted butter, coating thoroughly, then dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
- Add Dough to Loaf Pan: Arrange the coated flattened cinnamon rolls into a loaf pan, loosely alternating from side to side. This arrangement will resemble a braid as you layer the pieces.
- Top with Pecans: Sprinkle the finely chopped pecans evenly over the top of the arranged dough in the pan if desired.
- Bake: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Check the center by inserting a fork; if doughy, cover the top with foil to prevent over-browning and bake longer until cooked through. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Drizzle Icing: Before serving, drizzle both containers of the reserved icing evenly over the top of the warm bread for a sweet finishing touch.
Notes
- You can omit pecans if you have nut allergies or prefer a nut-free version.
- Flatten the cinnamon rolls gently to avoid tearing the dough.
- Cover the bread with foil during baking if the top browns too quickly before the middle is fully baked.
- Serve warm for the best texture and flavor experience.
- Leftovers can be reheated briefly in the oven or microwave to freshen.
