Description

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Puppy Chow is a delightful, no-bake sweet snack combining the crunchy, cinnamon-flavored cereal with a smooth, rich coating of melted chocolate, peanut butter, and butter, all dusted with powdered sugar for a perfect balance of flavors and textures. This easy-to-make treat is ideal for parties, snacks, or whenever you crave a quick, delicious indulgence.

Ingredients

Cereal

  • 12 oz box Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Approximately 8-9 cups)

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 6 tablespoons butter

Coating

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cereal: Pour the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal into a large bowl, ensuring it’s ready to be coated.
  2. Melt Chocolate Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl or medium saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.
  3. Heat until Smooth: If using a microwave, heat for 1 minute, then stir until smooth. Continue microwaving in 15-second increments if necessary, stirring thoroughly after each until fully melted. If using the stovetop, melt over medium-low heat while stirring frequently.
  4. Coat the Cereal: Pour the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cereal. Stir gently but thoroughly until every piece is evenly coated.
  5. Add Powdered Sugar: Transfer the coated cereal into a gallon-sized zip-top baggie. Add powdered sugar, seal the bag securely, and shake vigorously until the cereal is well coated with powdered sugar.
  6. Cool and Store: Spread the coated cereal out to cool completely or store it in the sealed bag until ready to serve, ensuring it stays fresh and crisp.

Notes

  • Use a large mixing bowl and a big zip-top bag for shaking the coated cereal to avoid mess.
  • You can substitute creamy peanut butter with any nut or seed butter of choice if desired.
  • Make sure the coating is cool before storing to keep the Pup Chow crunchy.
  • Store the puppy chow in an airtight container or sealed bag at room temperature for up to one week.
  • For a twist, sprinkle in some mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts after coating.
