Description

Delight in colorful, crunchy Cookie Monster Cake Mix Cookies featuring a vibrant blue vanilla cake dough loaded with crushed Oreo and Chips Ahoy cookies, plus white chocolate chips. These fun, easy-to-make cookies are perfect for parties or a playful dessert treat.

Ingredients

Cookie Dough

  • 13.25 oz Vanilla cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 5 drops blue food coloring

Add-ins

  • 10 Oreo cookies, broken into small pieces
  • 10 Chips Ahoy cookies, broken into small pieces
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Make cookie dough: In a large bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and blue food coloring. Stir thoroughly until a consistent dough forms.
  3. Set aside decorations: Reserve 32 pieces each of Oreo cookies, Chips Ahoy cookies, and white chocolate chips for topping. Mix any remaining pieces and chips into the dough evenly.
  4. Shape cookies: Use a cookie scoop to place dough mounds onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 3 inches apart to allow for spreading.
  5. Add toppings: Gently press one Oreo piece, one Chips Ahoy piece, and one white chocolate chip onto the top of each dough mound for decoration and flavor.
  6. Bake cookies: Place the baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 9 to 10 minutes or until cookies are set and lightly golden at the edges.
  7. Cool cookies: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and set it on a cooling rack for 2 minutes to firm up. Then transfer the cookies to the cooling rack to cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • For best color, use gel food coloring as it does not alter dough consistency.
  • Ensure cookies are spaced well on the baking sheet to prevent sticking during baking.
  • Cooling the cookies properly helps them set and maintains their shape and texture.
  • Optional: Substitute white chocolate chips with regular chocolate chips or candy melts for variation.
