Description

Crack Chicken Casserole is a creamy, cheesy, and flavorful dish that combines chicken, bacon, ranch seasoning, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese into a rich, comforting casserole. It’s an easy-to-make, family-favorite meal perfect for busy weeknights or potlucks.

Ingredients

3 cups cooked, shredded chicken

6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

1 packet ranch seasoning mix

8 oz cream cheese, softened

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/2 cup green onions, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, crumbled bacon, ranch seasoning, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir well until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed together.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbling and the top is golden and slightly crispy.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

  1. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  2. Reheat individual servings in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or the whole casserole at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
  3. This recipe is gluten-free if you use a gluten-free ranch seasoning mix.
  4. Feel free to add vegetables like spinach, broccoli, or bell peppers for extra nutrition and color.
  5. For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or spicy ranch seasoning.
  6. This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated before baking. Just increase baking time by 5-10 minutes if cold from the fridge.
