Description

This Cream Cheese Dip is a quick, savory, and garlicky appetizer that’s easy to prepare with just five simple ingredients. Perfect for dipping breadsticks, crackers, raw veggies, and more, it’s a versatile party favorite that can be whipped up in minutes and chilled to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

Ingredients

Dip Ingredients

  • 1 8-ounce block cream cheese, at room temperature
  • ¾ cup sour cream, at room temperature
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Whip the Cream Cheese: Place the room-temperature cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl. Use an electric hand mixer or stand mixer on high speed to whip it for 2 minutes until it becomes light and creamy.
  2. Add Remaining Ingredients: Scrape down the sides of the bowl, then add the sour cream, salt, garlic powder, and freshly ground black pepper. Beat everything together on high speed for an additional minute to combine thoroughly. Taste the dip and adjust salt or pepper as desired.
  3. Chill the Dip: Transfer the dip to a serving container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. This chilling time allows the flavors to fully blend and develop a richer, more harmonious taste.
  4. Serve: Serve the chilled cream cheese dip alongside breadsticks, soft pretzels, mini bagels, crackers, potato chips, or an assortment of raw vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • The longer you chill the dip, the more the flavors meld and intensify.
  • You can substitute ⅛ to ¼ teaspoon white pepper for freshly ground black pepper if desired.
  • Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
