Easy Strawberry Buttermilk Pie is a creamy, tangy, and fruity dessert featuring fresh strawberries layered in a flaky crust and topped with a smooth custard filling. Perfectly sweet and refreshing, it’s ideal for spring and summer gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
 - 1 cup granulated sugar
 - 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
 - 1/4 tsp salt
 - 3 large eggs
 - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
 - 1 cup buttermilk
 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
 - 1 tsp lemon zest (optional)
 - 1 9-inch prepared pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
 - Optional toppings: powdered sugar, whipped cream, fresh berries

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Fit the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges.
- Spread sliced strawberries evenly on the bottom of the pie crust.
 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, flour, salt, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, buttermilk, and optional lemon zest until smooth.
 - Pour the custard filling over the strawberries in the pie crust.
 - Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden.
 - Let the pie cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
 - Before serving, top with powdered sugar, whipped cream, or fresh berries if desired.

Notes
- Chill thoroughly before slicing for clean cuts and best texture.
 - Full-fat buttermilk gives a richer, creamier result.
 - Use well-drained thawed strawberries if using frozen.
 - This pie is best served cold and doesn’t freeze well due to its custard base.
