Description
Fall Pumpkin Punch is a festive and flavorful drink combining pumpkin purée, apple cider, citrus, and warming spices. It’s perfect served chilled or warm, with optional booze or as a non-alcoholic crowd-pleaser for fall gatherings.
Ingredients
- 4 cups apple cider
- 1/2 cup pumpkin purée (unsweetened)
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or brown sugar (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups ginger beer or sparkling water (added just before serving)
- Optional: 6–12 oz spiced rum, bourbon, or apple brandy
- Optional garnishes: orange slices, apple slices, cinnamon sticks
Instructions
- In a large pitcher or punch bowl, whisk together the apple cider, pumpkin purée, orange juice, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or spice as needed.
- Chill the punch for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator.
- Just before serving, stir in the ginger beer or sparkling water.
- If making a spiked version, add spiced rum, bourbon, or apple brandy.
- Serve over ice and garnish with orange slices, apple slices, or cinnamon sticks as desired.
Notes
- Use pure pumpkin purée, not pumpkin pie filling, to control sweetness and spice.
- Add the ginger beer and alcohol just before serving to retain fizz and freshness.
- Make ahead: Mix base punch ingredients up to 2 days in advance and refrigerate.
- Warm version: Heat punch on the stove without fizz, then add booze off heat if desired.
