Description

Flower Pot Brownies are a fun and creative dessert designed to look like miniature flower pots. These bite-sized brownies are topped with chocolate frosting, Oreo crumb ‘soil,’ and colorful M&Ms arranged in a flower pattern. Perfect for parties or a playful treat, this recipe uses a boxed brownie mix for quick preparation and yields 42 delightful servings.

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • 1 (18-ounce) box brownie mix
  • Ingredients called for on the box (usually eggs, oil, and water)

Toppings

  • 1 (16-ounce) tub chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup Oreo crumbs (about 11 cookies)
  • 1 (10-ounce) bag M&Ms

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a mini muffin pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
  2. Make Brownie Batter: Follow the package directions to prepare the brownie batter using the box mix and required additional ingredients such as eggs, oil, and water.
  3. Fill Muffin Cups: Pour the prepared batter into each mini muffin cup, filling about three-quarters full to allow room for rising.
  4. Bake Brownies: Bake the brownie bites for 18 to 23 minutes, testing doneness by inserting a toothpick which should come out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Cool Brownies: Let the brownie bites cool completely in the pan before attempting to remove them to maintain their shape.
  6. Apply Frosting: Spoon a small amount of chocolate frosting onto each cooled brownie and spread it evenly to create the ‘soil’ base.
  7. Add Oreo Crumbs: Sprinkle crushed Oreo crumbs over the frosting to resemble soil for the flower pots.
  8. Decorate with M&Ms: Press one M&M into the center of each frosted brownie, then arrange six additional M&Ms around it to form a colorful flower shape.

Notes

  • Make sure brownies are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
  • Use mini muffin pans for bite-sized treats; regular muffin pans will require longer baking time.
  • Oreo crumbs simulate soil but you can substitute with finely crushed chocolate cookies if preferred.
  • Get creative with M&M colors for different flower designs.
  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days for best freshness.
