Description
Fresh Raspberry Tiramisu is a delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert. The tangy sweetness of fresh raspberries contrasts beautifully with the creamy mascarpone filling, creating a dessert that is both indulgent and refreshing.
Ingredients
1 pound fresh raspberries
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
8 oz mascarpone cheese
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
24 ladyfingers (savoiardi)
Cocoa powder for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Start by preparing the whipped cream. In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar together until stiff peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture, creating a light and airy filling.
- Prepare a shallow dish and pour the cooled brewed coffee into it.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee, making sure not to soak them too long. Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.
- Spoon half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers and spread it evenly.
- Scatter half of the fresh raspberries on top of the mascarpone layer.
- Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, mascarpone filling, and fresh raspberries.
- Finish with a final layer of raspberries on top.
- Cover the tiramisu and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for a touch of elegance (optional).
Notes
- Berry Medley: Swap the raspberries for a mix of strawberries, blueberries, or blackberries for a different berry twist.
- Alcoholic Version: Add a tablespoon of liqueur like Chambord, Amaretto, or Marsala wine to the coffee for an added depth of flavor.
- Vegan Option: Use a plant-based whipped cream and dairy-free mascarpone to make this dessert vegan-friendly.
- Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The tiramisu will stay fresh for up to 3 days.
- Reheating: Tiramisu is best served chilled, so there’s no need to reheat it. Just take it out of the fridge and enjoy it cold.
