Ingredients
2 chicken breasts
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup cream cheese
4 large flour tortillas
1 cup fresh spinach (optional)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
1 tablespoon butter (for grilling)
Instructions
- Begin by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from the pan and set aside to rest for a few minutes. Once rested, slice the chicken into thin strips.
- In a small bowl, combine the mozzarella and cream cheese. You can also mix in grated Parmesan for an extra cheesy flavor.
- Lay the flour tortillas flat and spread the cheese mixture evenly on each one.
- Add the sliced chicken on top of the cheese mixture, and optionally, add fresh spinach for extra crunch and flavor.
- Roll up the wraps tightly, ensuring the filling stays inside.
- In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Place the wraps in the pan, seam side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Flip carefully to avoid the filling spilling out.
- Remove the wraps from the pan, slice in half, and serve warm.
Notes
- Vegetarian Option: Substitute the chicken for grilled vegetables such as zucchini, bell peppers, and onions for a delicious vegetarian wrap.
- Spicy Version: Add some jalapeño slices or red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture to give your wraps a spicy kick.
- Different Cheese: If mozzarella isn’t your favorite, you can substitute it with cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend of your favorite cheeses for varied flavors.
- Gluten-Free Wraps: Use gluten-free tortillas to make the dish suitable for gluten-sensitive individuals.
