Description

Homemade Mango Iced Tea is a refreshing, tropical twist on traditional iced tea, combining the natural sweetness of ripe mango with the smooth taste of black tea. It’s perfect for hot days, offering a flavorful, cooling drink for any occasion.

Ingredients

4 cups water

4 black tea bags

1 ripe mango, peeled and diced

1/4 cup honey (or sweetener of choice)

2 tbsp fresh lime juice (optional)

Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium-sized pot. Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes.
  2. While the tea is steeping, place the diced mango in a blender or food processor. Puree until smooth.
  3. Once the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and stir in honey (or your sweetener of choice) until fully dissolved.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine the brewed tea with the mango puree and fresh lime juice, if using. Stir well.
  5. Fill glasses with ice cubes, then pour the mango iced tea over the ice.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing, tropical flavors!

Notes

  1. Sweetener Substitutes: Use agave syrup, stevia, or maple syrup as alternatives to honey.
  2. Tea Variations: Green tea, white tea, or herbal teas like hibiscus can be used for unique flavor profiles.
  3. Mango Variations: Add more mango or use frozen mango chunks for a slushy effect.
  4. Add Spices: For a spiced twist, add cinnamon or ginger to the tea while steeping.
  5. Storage: Store in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.
  6. Reheating: Reheat the tea if you prefer it warm, but add the ice and mango puree freshly.
