Description

Loaded fries are the ultimate comfort food, combining crispy fries with a rich variety of toppings such as melted cheese, savory bacon, and creamy sour cream.

Ingredients

4 cups frozen French fries or homemade fries

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled

1/2 cup sour cream

2 tablespoons green onions, chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Spread the frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Bake the fries for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
  4. While the fries are baking, cook the bacon and crumble it into small pieces.
  5. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and immediately sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the fries. Return to the oven for 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Remove the fries from the oven and top with crumbled bacon, sour cream, and chopped green onions.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Vegetarian Version: Skip the bacon and add extra vegetables like sautéed mushrooms, peppers, or onions.
  2. Spicy Version: Add sliced jalapeños or drizzle with hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  3. Cheese Lovers: Use a mix of cheeses such as mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or pepper jack to make it extra cheesy.
  4. BBQ Loaded Fries: Swap sour cream for barbecue sauce and add pulled pork or grilled chicken.
