Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup real maple syrup
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
⅓ cup white sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two cookie sheets.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate large bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light. Mix in maple syrup, egg, and vanilla until fully blended.
- Stir in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place them 2 inches apart on prepared sheets.
- Flatten each slightly with the bottom of a glass, then sprinkle with white sugar.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges turn golden.
- Transfer to wire racks to cool. Repeat with remaining dough.
