Description
This refreshing Ninja Creami Cherry Limeade Sorbet combines the sweetness of cherries with the tanginess of lime for a perfect frozen treat. Made using fresh or frozen cherries and a simple homemade syrup, this sorbet is churned to a smooth consistency using the Ninja Creami machine. Ideal for hot days or as a palate cleanser, this sorbet is both vibrant in flavor and easy to prepare.
Ingredients
Fruit and Flavoring
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries (pitted)
- ¼ cup fresh lime juice
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
- Pinch of salt
Simple Syrup
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Prepare the Cherries: Wash and pit the cherries thoroughly. Place them in a small bowl and set aside while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.
- Make Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat gently over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar fully dissolves. Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool completely before using.
- Mix Cherry and Lime: In a mixing bowl, combine the pitted cherries, fresh lime juice, lime zest, and optional lemon juice. Pour in the cooled simple syrup and add a pinch of salt to balance the flavors. Stir everything together until well combined.
- Blend the Mixture: Transfer the cherry-lime mixture to a blender. Blend until completely smooth with no large chunks remaining to ensure a smooth sorbet texture.
- Pour Into Container: Pour the blended mixture evenly into the Ninja Creami freezer container. Cover and freeze for at least 24 hours until the mixture is completely solid.
- Use Ninja Creami: Remove the container from the freezer and insert it into the Ninja Creami machine. Select the “Sorbet” mode and let the machine churn the mixture until it reaches a smooth, creamy sorbet consistency.
- Serve and Enjoy: Scoop the finished sorbet into bowls or cones. Optionally, garnish with fresh cherries or lime slices for an extra burst of color and flavor. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- For best results, use fresh cherries when in season, or high-quality frozen cherries if fresh are unavailable.
- The simple syrup must be fully cooled before mixing to prevent melting the sorbet base prematurely.
- If the sorbet is too crumbly after churning, simply re-spin in the Ninja Creami on the sorbet mode for a smoother texture.
- You can adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of your cherries and your personal preference.
- This sorbet is naturally dairy-free and vegan-friendly.
