Description
These No-Bake Turtle Dream Bars combine the richness of caramel, toasted pecans, and smooth chocolate in a decadent, no-bake dessert. Perfect for any occasion, they’re the kind of indulgence that will have everyone asking for the recipe!
Ingredients
1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
½ cup melted butter
1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
1 ½ cups sweetened condensed milk
1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
½ cup caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare a 9×9-inch square baking dish, greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Mix the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter in a bowl until well combined. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
- Sprinkle the toasted pecans over the graham cracker crust, spreading them out evenly.
- In a separate bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, caramel sauce, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture over the pecans, ensuring it’s spread out evenly.
- Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Refrigerate the bars for at least 2-3 hours to allow the layers to set. For best results, refrigerate overnight.
- Once set, cut the bars into squares. Drizzle extra caramel sauce on top before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.
Notes
- For nut-free bars, replace the pecans with crispy rice cereal or additional graham cracker crumbs for crunch.
- Swap semi-sweet chocolate chips with milk or dark chocolate for different flavor profiles.
- If you don’t have caramel sauce, you can melt caramel candies with a little cream to make your own.
- Store the bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
- These bars are meant to be enjoyed chilled, but you can warm them for a few seconds in the microwave if you prefer a slightly warm caramel experience.
