Description

Deliciously chewy and buttery One Bowl Blondies with rich dark brown sugar sweetness, studded with chocolate chips and crunchy toffee pieces, topped with a sprinkle of flaky sea salt. Perfect for an easy, crowd-pleasing dessert that requires minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Blondie Batter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup toffee pieces

Topping

  • Flaked sea salt, for sprinkling on blondies

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare the pan: Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Line a 9×13” baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to easily lift the blondies out later. Spray the parchment paper with nonstick cooking spray and set the pan aside.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter and packed dark brown sugar, stirring until they are well incorporated. Add the lightly beaten eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  3. Add dry ingredients: To the wet mixture, add the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir just until the ingredients are combined, being careful not to overmix to keep the blondies tender.
  4. Fold in mix-ins: Gently fold in the chocolate chips and toffee pieces evenly throughout the batter.
  5. Bake the blondies: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle flaked sea salt over the top to enhance the flavor. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly soft. Begin checking around 30 minutes to prevent overbaking.
  6. Cool and serve: Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan. Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the whole slab out of the pan. Cut into 24 squares and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure not to overbake to keep the blondies moist and chewy.
  • Use parchment paper with an overhang for easy removal after baking.
  • You can substitute butterscotch chips for chocolate chips if preferred.
  • Add nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
  • Store blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
