Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 14.3 oz package Oreo Cookies (Any flavor but not double stuffed)
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (room-temperature)
Coating and Decorations
- 1 package Almond Bark (white or chocolate)
- Sprinkles
- Icing for drizzling
- Additional Crushed Oreos
- Crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- Prepare the surface: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Crush the Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Alternatively, place cookies in a ziplock bag and crush them with a rolling pin until finely ground.
- Mix with cream cheese: Combine the crushed Oreos with the room-temperature cream cheese in a mixing bowl or food processor. Mix until smooth and uniform in texture.
- Form balls: Using your hands, roll the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into 1-inch diameter balls, ensuring they are compact and even.
- Melt almond bark and coat balls: Melt the almond bark according to package instructions. Quickly roll or dip each Oreo ball into the melted almond bark, making sure to coat fully before the chocolate sets. Place coated balls on the prepared cookie sheet. Optionally, decorate with sprinkles, crushed Oreos, or peppermint candies while the coating is still soft.
- Refrigerate to set: Place the cookie sheet with coated balls into the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes or until the chocolate coating is fully hardened and firm.
Notes
- Use room-temperature cream cheese to ensure smooth mixing without lumps.
- Do not use double-stuffed Oreos as it may alter texture and consistency.
- Work quickly when coating the balls in almond bark so the coating does not harden before decorating.
- Store the finished Oreo cookie balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Optional decorations like sprinkles or crushed peppermint candies add festive flair and texture.
