Description

Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Creamy Garlic Sauce features a crispy Parmesan crust paired with a rich, creamy garlic sauce. The chicken remains tender on the inside, while the sauce adds a luscious, garlicky depth to each bite.


Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup breadcrumbs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp dried Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

2 large eggs, beaten

2 tbsp olive oil, for frying

4 tbsp butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for the sauce)

1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine the grated Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in the beaten eggs, then dredge it in the Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to coat the chicken evenly.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and finish cooking in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  5. While the chicken is baking, make the garlic sauce. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Let the sauce cook for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cook for another minute, until smooth and creamy. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.
  7. Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the oven and serve with the creamy garlic sauce on top. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  1. For a different twist, use Pecorino Romano or Asiago cheese in the crust.
  2. Add red pepper flakes to the garlic sauce for a spicy kick.
  3. For a gluten-free option, substitute almond flour or gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  4. To make ahead, store the chicken and sauce separately in the refrigerator and reheat before serving.
