Description

Pecan Pie Crescents are a delightful fusion of two classic treats: pecan pie and buttery crescent rolls. With a warm, gooey filling made of sweet pecans, brown sugar, and a hint of vanilla, wrapped inside a flaky, golden crescent dough, these little bites are perfect for dessert, a snack, or even a festive treat during the holidays.

Ingredients

1 package crescent roll dough

1/2 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 tablespoon honey

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Separate the dough into individual triangles.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the chopped pecans, brown sugar, melted butter, honey, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  4. Spoon a small amount of the pecan mixture onto the wide end of each crescent dough triangle.
  5. Roll up each triangle tightly, starting from the wide end, to form the crescent shape with the pecan filling inside.
  6. Place the rolled crescents onto the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once done, remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  1. Nut alternatives: Substitute pecans with walnuts, almonds, or even hazelnuts.
  2. Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the filling mixture for extra flavor.
  3. After baking, drizzle caramel sauce or a powdered sugar glaze for added sweetness.
  4. Store leftover pecan pie crescents in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  5. Reheat them in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 5-7 minutes to restore their crispiness.
  6. Freeze unbaked crescents for up to a month, bake from frozen adding a few extra minutes to the bake time.
