Description

These delightful Pink Cake Pops are a fun and festive treat perfect for parties or special occasions. Made with moist vanilla cake and creamy vanilla frosting, then coated in a smooth shell of pink candy melts and topped with sparkling pink sanding sugar, these bite-sized desserts are as visually appealing as they are delicious.

Ingredients

Cake Pops

  • Unfrosted 9×13 inch yellow or vanilla cake, baked and cooled (homemade or box mix)
  • 1 cup vanilla frosting
  • 12 oz bag of pink candy melts
  • 24 cake pop sticks
  • Pink sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cake Mixture: Once your cake is baked and completely cooled, break it apart into small crumbs inside a large mixing bowl. Stir in the vanilla frosting thoroughly until the mixture is moist and can hold together.
  2. Form Cake Balls: Shape the mixture into 24 balls, each about 2 inches in diameter. Discard any leftover crumbs. Place the cake balls on a tray and freeze for 20 minutes to firm them up, then gently roll them again to smooth the surface.
  3. Insert Sticks: Melt 1/4 cup of the pink candy melts according to package directions. Dip the end of each cake pop stick about half an inch into the melted candy, then insert the stick about an inch into each cake ball. Let the candy set, securing the sticks to the cake pops.
  4. Coat Cake Pops: Melt the remaining candy melts fully. Dip each cake pop into the melted candy until completely coated. If desired, sprinkle the pink sanding sugar on top immediately after dipping to add sparkle and texture.
  5. Set the Coating: Place the coated cake pops upright in a stand or foam block and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to allow the candy coating to fully harden and set.

Notes

  • Ensure the cake is completely cooled before mixing with frosting to prevent the mixture from becoming too soft.
  • Freezing the cake balls helps them hold their shape and makes dipping easier.
  • You can substitute vanilla cake and frosting with any flavor you prefer for variety.
  • Use a styrofoam block or cake pop stand to hold pops upright while coating sets.
  • If candy melts are too thick, stir in a small amount of vegetable oil to thin for smoother coating.
