Description
Rice Krispy Bars are classic no-bake treats made with crispy rice cereal, melted marshmallows, and butter. Chewy, sweet, and crunchy, they’re perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or a quick nostalgic dessert.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal (or any puffed rice cereal)
- 10 oz mini marshmallows (about 5 1/2 cups)
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional: pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat.
- Add mini marshmallows and stir constantly until fully melted and smooth.
- Optional: stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt for enhanced flavor.
- Remove from heat and immediately stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Press mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan using a spatula or wax paper to flatten evenly.
- Let cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Use parchment paper for easy removal and less mess.
- Don’t press too hard when forming the bars—this helps keep them soft and chewy.
- Add mix-ins like chocolate chips, candy, or sprinkles before pressing into the pan.
- For a twist, drizzle with melted chocolate or top with a peanut butter swirl.
