Description

This Simple Strawberry Smoothie is a quick and nutritious blend of frozen strawberries, bananas, almond butter, and almond milk, perfect for a refreshing and healthy breakfast or snack. It features optional oats and flax seed for added fiber and nutrition, and can be lightly sweetened with maple syrup to taste.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups to 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk or water
  • 10 ounces (2 cups) frozen strawberries, thawed for 5 to 10 minutes
  • 1 ½ cups frozen bananas (sliced into ½ inch pieces before freezing)
  • ¼ cup almond butter

Optional Nutrition Boosters

  • ¼ cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 tablespoons flax seed

Sweetener

  • 1 to 2 teaspoons maple syrup, if desired for sweetness

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add all ingredients to your blender, beginning with the unsweetened vanilla almond milk or water to help with blending.
  2. Blend Smooth: Start blending on a low speed until the blender picks up momentum, then increase to the highest speed or use the smoothie function if available. Use a tamper to push ingredients down and scrape sides as needed. If the strawberries resist blending, pause for several minutes before resuming. Add up to ½ cup extra almond milk if needed to reach the desired consistency.
  3. Adjust Sweetness and Serve: Once the smoothie is fully blended, creamy, and smooth, taste it and add maple syrup if a sweeter flavor is preferred. Blend briefly to combine. Pour the smoothie into 2 to 4 glasses, depending on serving size, and serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Thaw frozen strawberries for 5 to 10 minutes before blending to ease processing.
  • Frozen bananas should be sliced before freezing to enable smooth blending.
  • Optional oats and flax seed add fiber and healthy fats without altering taste significantly.
  • Adjust almond milk quantity for preferred smoothie thickness.
  • Serve immediately for optimal freshness and texture.
