Description

Spaghetti Garlic Bread Bowls combine two classic comfort foods into one delicious and fun meal. Creamy, cheesy spaghetti is served inside crispy garlic bread bowls, creating a hearty, flavorful dish perfect for cozy dinners or special occasions. This unique twist on traditional Italian spaghetti will have everyone asking for seconds!

Ingredients

4 large bread bowls

1 lb spaghetti

3 tbsp olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 tsp garlic powder

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Cut the tops off the bread bowls and hollow out the centers, leaving about an inch of bread along the sides.

  • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Brush the garlic butter mixture over the inside and outside of the bread bowls.

  • Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.

  • Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using). Sauté for about 1 minute, until fragrant.

  • Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

  • Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce.

  • Stir in the Parmesan and mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir in fresh basil.

  • Spoon the cheesy spaghetti mixture into the prepared bread bowls.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  1. Variations: Add cooked ground beef, sausage, or grilled chicken for a meatier version. For a vegetarian twist, load the spaghetti with vegetables like mushrooms, spinach, or zucchini.
  2. Storage/Reheating: Store leftover spaghetti in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat on the stovetop with a bit of cream or pasta water. The bread bowls are best eaten fresh.
