Description

These Steak & Cheese Quesadillas offer the perfect balance of savory steak, melted cheese, and a crispy tortilla. Quick and easy to make, this recipe is ideal for lunch, dinner, or a savory snack. Customize it with your favorite veggies and sauces for a meal everyone will love.

Ingredients

1 lb flank steak or skirt steak, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 medium onion, sliced

1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

4 large flour tortillas

2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)

1 tablespoon butter (for grilling)

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, and paprika. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove steak and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, sauté onions (and bell peppers) for 2-3 minutes until softened. Remove from heat.

  • In a separate skillet, place a tortilla over medium heat. Sprinkle a small amount of shredded cheese on one half of the tortilla.

  • Add a portion of steak and sautéed onions (and peppers) on top of the cheese, then add more cheese on top of the steak. Fold the tortilla in half.

  • Grill the quesadilla for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese is melted. Remove from heat and cut into wedges.

  • Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.

Notes

  1. Add sautéed mushrooms, zucchini, or spinach for extra flavor.
  2. Try different cheeses like pepper jack or mozzarella for a unique twist.
  3. Add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
