Description

Strawberry sorbet is a refreshing, dairy-free dessert made with fresh strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. It’s perfect for warm weather and easy to make with minimal ingredients.


Ingredients

1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and halved

1 cup water

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Place the strawberries in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved completely. Allow the mixture to cool.
  3. Once the sugar water has cooled, combine it with the strawberry puree and lemon juice in a large bowl. Mix well.
  4. Pour the strawberry mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  5. Once the sorbet has reached a soft-serve consistency, transfer it to an airtight container and place it in the freezer. Freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  6. Serve the sorbet in bowls or cones and enjoy!

Notes

  1. For a minty twist, add a handful of fresh mint leaves to the strawberry mixture.
  2. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour the mixture into a shallow dish, freeze, and stir it every 30 minutes until it reaches a sorbet-like consistency.
  3. Store in an airtight container for up to 1-2 weeks in the freezer.
  4. If sorbet becomes too hard, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.
