Description

This delightful Strawberry Tiramisu is a fresh twist on the classic Italian dessert, featuring layers of ladyfingers soaked in a homemade strawberry sauce, creamy mascarpone filling, and fresh sliced strawberries. Perfect for a light, fruity treat that’s easy to assemble and sure to impress at any gathering.

Ingredients

Strawberry Sauce

  • 1/3 cup strawberry jam
  • 3 Tablespoons water
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Filling

  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest

Assembly

  • 24 ladyfingers (Savoiardi brand recommended)
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Make strawberry sauce: In a small mixing bowl, stir together 1/3 cup strawberry jam, 3 Tablespoons water, and 1 Tablespoon lemon juice until well combined to create the soaking liquid for the ladyfingers.
  2. Prepare filling: In a medium sized mixing bowl, beat together 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon lemon zest. Beat for about 2 minutes until thick, creamy, and similar in texture to whipped cream.
  3. Dip ladyfingers: Quickly dip 12 ladyfinger cookies one at a time into the strawberry sauce, ensuring they are lightly soaked but not soggy. Lay them in a single layer in an 8×8 inch square baking dish or similar serving dish.
  4. Spread filling and strawberries: Spread half of the mascarpone cream evenly over the soaked ladyfingers. Then, arrange half of the sliced strawberries on top of the cream layer.
  5. Create second layer: Repeat the dipping process with the remaining 12 ladyfingers, laying them on top of the strawberries. Spread the remaining mascarpone filling over this second layer, followed by the rest of the sliced strawberries, creating a beautiful layered dessert.
  6. Chill: Cover the assembled tiramisu with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the dessert to set perfectly before serving.

Notes

  • Use Savoiardi ladyfingers for authentic texture and flavor.
  • Do not over-soak the ladyfingers to prevent a soggy dessert.
  • For best results, chill for at least 8 hours or overnight to let the flavors fully develop.
  • Fresh strawberries enhance the flavor and presentation—choose ripe, juicy berries.
  • Can be prepared a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator covered tightly.
