Description
Sweet & Salty Strawberry Pretzel Tart is a beautiful, no-fuss dessert with a crunchy pretzel crust, creamy vanilla filling, and a vibrant layer of fresh strawberries. The perfect balance of sweet and salty makes it irresistibly satisfying for warm-weather gatherings.
Ingredients
- 2 cups crushed salted pretzels
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
- 2–3 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tbsp apricot jam (optional, for glaze)
- 1–2 tsp water (for thinning glaze, optional)
- Extra crushed pretzels (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) if baking crust. Line a tart pan or pie dish.
- Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press into the bottom and sides of the tart pan.
- Bake crust for 7–8 minutes until lightly golden, or chill in the fridge for 30–45 minutes to set. Let cool completely.
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Fold in whipped cream or whipped topping until fluffy and well combined.
- Spread the cream filling evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
- Arrange sliced strawberries over the filling in a decorative pattern.
- If desired, warm apricot jam with a little water and brush over strawberries for a glossy finish.
- Chill the tart in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or overnight, until firm.
- Garnish with extra crushed pretzels before serving, if desired. Slice with a hot, dry knife for clean cuts.
Notes
- Baking the crust helps it hold together better and prevents sogginess.
- Use fresh strawberries for best flavor and texture; pat dry before placing.
- The tart is best served cold, and leftovers can be refreshed with more crushed pretzels.
- You can substitute mascarpone for cream cheese for a slightly different flavor.
- Other berries like raspberries or blueberries can be used instead of strawberries.
