Description

Sweet & Salty Strawberry Pretzel Tart is a beautiful, no-fuss dessert with a crunchy pretzel crust, creamy vanilla filling, and a vibrant layer of fresh strawberries. The perfect balance of sweet and salty makes it irresistibly satisfying for warm-weather gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed salted pretzels
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 23 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp apricot jam (optional, for glaze)
  • 12 tsp water (for thinning glaze, optional)
  • Extra crushed pretzels (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) if baking crust. Line a tart pan or pie dish.
  2. Mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Press into the bottom and sides of the tart pan.
  3. Bake crust for 7–8 minutes until lightly golden, or chill in the fridge for 30–45 minutes to set. Let cool completely.
  4. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Fold in whipped cream or whipped topping until fluffy and well combined.
  6. Spread the cream filling evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
  7. Arrange sliced strawberries over the filling in a decorative pattern.
  8. If desired, warm apricot jam with a little water and brush over strawberries for a glossy finish.
  9. Chill the tart in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or overnight, until firm.
  10. Garnish with extra crushed pretzels before serving, if desired. Slice with a hot, dry knife for clean cuts.

Notes

  • Baking the crust helps it hold together better and prevents sogginess.
  • Use fresh strawberries for best flavor and texture; pat dry before placing.
  • The tart is best served cold, and leftovers can be refreshed with more crushed pretzels.
  • You can substitute mascarpone for cream cheese for a slightly different flavor.
  • Other berries like raspberries or blueberries can be used instead of strawberries.
