Description

TikTok Ramen is a viral, quick, and easy ramen hack that combines traditional ramen noodles with a unique sauce made of butter, soy sauce, and seasoning. It’s a comforting, simple meal that’s full of umami and perfect for anyone craving a fast yet satisfying bowl of noodles.

Ingredients

1 package of instant ramen noodles (any flavor)

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon chili paste (optional, for a spicy kick)

1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

1/2 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

1/4 cup water

1 green onion (for garnish, optional)

1 boiled egg (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Usually, this involves boiling the noodles for 3-4 minutes in a pot of water. Once done, drain and set aside, reserving about 1/4 cup of the cooking water.
  2. In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the soy sauce, garlic powder, chili paste (if using), sesame oil, sugar, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Add the reserved cooking water to the pot and stir until the sauce becomes smooth and slightly thickened.
  5. Return the cooked ramen noodles to the pot and toss them in the sauce until well-coated.
  6. Serve the ramen in a bowl, garnishing with chopped green onions and a boiled egg if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

  1. Vegetable Additions: Add spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers for extra texture and flavor.
  2. Protein: Add a boiled egg, tofu, or grilled chicken for a protein boost.
  3. Spicy Version: Increase the amount of chili paste or add red pepper flakes for a spicier kick.
  4. Vegan Version: Use a plant-based butter and soy sauce to make it vegan-friendly.
  5. Storage/Reheating: Store any leftover TikTok Ramen in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. When reheating, add a splash of water or broth to loosen the sauce, and warm it up in a microwave or on the stovetop.
