Description

These Winter Bliss Balls are a nutritious and delicious no-bake snack packed with natural sweetness from medjool dates, crunchy roasted cashews, and superfood boosts like chia, hemp, and maca powders. Featuring warming orange zest and rich cacao, they make a perfect energy bite for winter days. Easily customizable with toppings like melted chocolate, nuts, seeds, or dried roses, these bliss balls are simple, wholesome, and ready in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Base Ingredients

  • 25-30 medjool dates, pitted (about 2 cups packed)
  • 1 1/2 cups roasted cashews
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/4 cup cacao powder
  • 1/4 cup hemp seeds
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 teaspoon maca powder
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Toppings (Optional)

  • Melted chocolate
  • Extra nuts
  • Extra seeds
  • Dried rose petals
  • Cocoa or cacao powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to place the finished bliss balls on for easy removal and setting.
  2. Process ingredients: Add all the base ingredients (dates, cashews, coconut flakes, cacao powder, hemp seeds, chia seeds, maca powder, orange zest, and sea salt) to a food processor. Pulse until the mixture is fully combined and forms a sticky dough that holds together when squeezed by hand.
  3. Shape balls and add toppings: Scoop out the dough and roll into tablespoon-sized balls. If desired, roll the balls in your choice of toppings such as extra nuts, seeds, dried rose petals, or cacao powder. Alternatively, dip them in melted chocolate and sprinkle toppings over the chocolate for extra flavor and texture.
  4. Set and store: Place the bliss balls on the lined baking sheet and refrigerate until any melted chocolate toppings are set. Store the balls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week to keep them fresh and chewy.

Notes

  • Medjool dates should be soft and fresh for easy blending; soak in warm water for 10 minutes if dry.
  • You can substitute roasted cashews with other nuts like almonds or walnuts as preferred.
  • Adjust the amount of maca powder and cacao to taste for stronger or milder flavors.
  • Make sure the bliss balls are firm enough to hold their shape before storing to avoid sticking.
  • These bliss balls can be frozen for up to 3 months; thaw in the fridge before eating.
