Description

This Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Dump Cake is a deliciously rich, moist cake combining chocolate cake mix with instant pudding, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and chopped peanut butter cups. It’s a perfect dessert for peanut butter and chocolate lovers that’s simple to make and ready in under an hour.

Ingredients

Cake Mix & Pudding

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (any variety – Devil’s Food recommended)
  • 1 pkg instant chocolate pudding mix (3.4 oz size)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

Add-ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini Reese’s cups, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare baking dish: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish thoroughly to prevent the cake from sticking.
  2. Mix dry and wet ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, instant chocolate pudding mix, unsweetened cocoa powder, and milk. Stir well until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
  3. Add chocolate chips and peanut butter cups: Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped mini Reese’s peanut butter cups to evenly distribute throughout the batter.
  4. Transfer batter to pan: Spread the thick batter evenly into the prepared greased baking dish, smoothing the top for even baking.
  5. Bake the cake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs attached.
  6. Cool and serve: Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for 10–15 minutes. Serve warm on its own or enhance by adding ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup.

Notes

  • For extra peanut butter flavor, sprinkle some peanut butter chips on top before baking.
  • Letting the cake cool slightly before serving helps the texture set better.
  • You can substitute mini Reese’s cups with chopped regular peanut butter cups if desired.
  • This cake can be stored covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerated for up to 5 days.
  • Reheat slices in the microwave for 15-20 seconds to enjoy warm again.
