Description

Honey Nut Cheerio Treats are a quick and delightful no-bake snack combining the sweet, nutty flavor of Honey Nut Cheerios with gooey marshmallows and butter. Perfect for an easy party treat or a fun after-school snack, these colorful, sprinkle-topped bars are sure to please kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 5 1/2 cups Honey Nut Cheerios (gluten free)
  • Rainbow sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat marshmallows and butter: Place the mini marshmallows and butter in an extra large, microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes until the marshmallows begin to expand and soften.
  2. Mix and coat Cheerios: Stir the melted marshmallows and butter together until smooth. Add the Honey Nut Cheerios and mix thoroughly to coat them completely with the marshmallow mixture.
  3. Spread in pan: Line a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with wax paper or parchment paper. Evenly spread the coated Cheerios mixture into the pan and flatten it out. Sprinkle rainbow sprinkles on top if desired.
  4. Chill before serving: Refrigerate the treats for at least 30 minutes to allow them to set and firm up. Once chilled, cut into bars and serve. Enjoy your sweet, crunchy snack!

Notes

  • Use gluten-free Honey Nut Cheerios to keep the treats gluten free.
  • For easier cutting, let the treats sit at room temperature a few minutes after removing them from the fridge.
  • You can substitute regular marshmallows if mini are not available, but adjust melting time accordingly.
  • Feel free to add other mix-ins like chopped nuts or chocolate chips for variation.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
