Description

This homemade Neapolitan Ice Cream recipe features three classic flavors—vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry—layered beautifully in a loaf pan. Made with sweetened condensed milk and whipped cream, it’s a creamy, no-churn frozen treat that’s easy to prepare and perfect for any ice cream lover.

Ingredients

Ice Cream Base

  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream

Chocolate Layer

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Strawberry Layer

  • ½ cup strawberry puree
  • Red food coloring (optional)

Optional Garnish

  • Wafer rolls

Instructions

  1. Whip the Cream: In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. This will give the ice cream its creamy texture without the need for an ice cream maker.
  2. Make the Base Mixture: Gently fold the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and salt into the whipped cream until fully combined, taking care not to deflate the whipped cream.
  3. Divide the Mixture: Split the combined mixture evenly into three separate bowls. Keep one bowl plain for the vanilla layer.
  4. Prepare Chocolate Layer: Mix the cocoa powder into the second bowl thoroughly until the chocolate is fully incorporated.
  5. Prepare Strawberry Layer: Stir the strawberry purée into the third bowl, adding a few drops of red food coloring if a brighter pink is desired.
  6. Assemble Layers: Using cake cardboard or strips of parchment paper as dividers, layer the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry mixtures side by side in a loaf pan to create three distinct sections.
  7. Freeze: Cover the loaf pan tightly with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 5 hours or overnight until the ice cream is firm.
  8. Seal the Layers: Once frozen solid, remove the dividers carefully. Gently press the three sections together with a flat surface to seal the layers neatly.

Notes

  • Use high-quality strawberry purée for the best flavor in the strawberry layer.
  • Red food coloring is optional and only needed if you want more vibrant pink strawberry ice cream.
  • Allow the ice cream to soften slightly at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before scooping for easier serving.
  • For added presentation, serve with wafer rolls as garnish.
  • This recipe requires no ice cream maker and relies on whipping and freezing.
