Description

This luscious Peaches and Cream Ice Cream recipe combines fresh, juicy peaches with a smooth vanilla cream base for a refreshing homemade dessert. Utilizing an ice cream maker, this recipe yields a creamy, soft-serve style ice cream swirled with sweet peach puree, perfect for warm days or any time you crave a delightful frozen treat.

Ingredients

Ice Cream Base

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup sugar (divided)

Peach Puree

  • 1 1/2 cups peaches, peeled, pitted, and chunked
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Freeze the ice cream maker insert: Ensure your ice cream maker’s bowl is frozen and ready for use as recommended by the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Mix the cream base: In a large bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup of the sugar until well combined.
  3. Chill the mixture: Place the vanilla cream mixture into the freezer for 30 minutes to chill thoroughly before churning.
  4. Churn the ice cream base: Assemble your ice cream maker and pour in the chilled base while it is running. Churn for approximately 15 minutes or until the mixture reaches the consistency of soft serve ice cream.
  5. Prepare the peaches: While the ice cream churns, peel, pit, and chop the peaches into chunks.
  6. Puree the peaches: In a blender, combine the peaches and remaining 1/4 cup sugar. Blend until smooth and set aside.
  7. Layer the ice cream and puree: Scoop half of the churned ice cream into a shallow container. Drizzle half of the peach puree over it and use a knife to swirl the mixture for an even distribution.
  8. Add remaining layers: Top with the remaining ice cream and swirl in the rest of the peach puree in the same manner.
  9. Freeze to set: Cover the container with a lid and place it in the freezer for 3 to 4 hours to firm up to your desired consistency.
  10. Serve: When ready, scoop the Peaches and Cream Ice Cream into bowls or cones and enjoy the creamy, fruit-infused dessert.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure your ice cream maker bowl is fully frozen before starting.
  • You can substitute fresh peaches with frozen peaches if fresh are out of season; just be sure to thaw and drain excess liquid.
  • Adjust sugar quantity to taste, especially if using very ripe peaches.
  • Swirling the peach puree throughout the ice cream adds texture and bursts of fruity flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container to prevent freezer burn and maintain creaminess.
