Description

Delight in these elegant White Chocolate Covered Strawberries, a simple yet indulgent treat perfect for any special occasion or as a luxurious homemade dessert. Fresh strawberries are dipped in smooth, melted white chocolate and chilled to set, with optional decorations like sprinkles or pink chocolate drizzle to add a festive flair.

Ingredients

Strawberries

  • 20 pieces fresh strawberries

White Chocolate Coating

  • 140 grams white chocolate (good quality chocolate chips such as Callebaut or white chocolate bar like Lindt)

Optional Decorations

  • Sprinkles
  • Americolor gel pink food coloring

Instructions

  1. Prepare Strawberries: Rinse the strawberries thoroughly and then pat them completely dry using paper towels to ensure no moisture interferes with the chocolate coating.
  2. Melt White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate carefully over a double boiler or microwave at low heat. Stir every 30 seconds to avoid overheating and graininess, melting just until smooth.
  3. Dip Strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the green leaves and dip into the melted white chocolate fully or up to three-quarters. Gently shake off excess chocolate, then place strawberries side-by-side on a prepared baking sheet.
  4. Chill to Set: Refrigerate the dipped strawberries for 30 minutes or freeze for 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to firmly set.
  5. Decorate (Optional): For a drizzle effect, transfer melted chocolate to a piping bag, snip the tip, and drizzle over strawberries. To create pink chocolate, mix a small amount of pink food coloring into some melted white chocolate and either drizzle or dip the strawberries. Alternatively, dip strawberries and sprinkle them with your choice of sprinkles for added texture and color.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help the chocolate adhere properly.
  • Use good quality white chocolate for a smooth texture and better flavor.
  • Be cautious with pink gel food coloring as too much may affect chocolate consistency.
  • Store finished strawberries in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours for best freshness.
